Artist's Statement

After years of painting in oils on canvas, I discovered that working with clay became a new and different way to express my talents. After experiencing most of the ceramic pottery techniques, I settled on "hand-built" clay sculpture which I successfully did for quite a few years.

Eventually I found working with watercolor pencils, acrylics and charcoal pencil my next art venture. This eventually led to a mixed media technique which I use in most of my work today. I do not enjoy the restriction of using only one medium in my paintings. Mixed media gives me the freedom to fully express my feelings of the subject.
